Natural Navigation Courses With Tristan Gooley

The course sims to provide all the participants with the training and experience necessary to prepare them to lead desert expeditions in a sustainable and responsible way.

During the course our instructors build on confidence, leadership skills and knowledge, to help with the rigours of leading expeditions in a hostile and unforgiving environment. As the course progresses, participants will be given more and more responsibility, finally taking charge during the trek phase.

The course is run as a series of modules over a 5 day period and is very “hands on”, with a number of scenarios and practical demonstrations, the big favourite is being tought to ride camels by the Bedu.

The time spent at Al Kalm will also serve as an acclimatisation period, so cutting down the probability of heat injuries during the trek.

Candidates will be assessed by the instructors during the course, especially during the trek where you will be able to demonstrate your knowledge and leadership skills.

"Sam is an experienced leader and a good communicator, he is used to working with people of all age groups, experience and background, often in challenging circumstances".
