We were also nominated for two awards at the National Adventure Awards, for leadership and best service provider. We’ll find out in March if we have won anything or not.
In May we won the much coveted Shackleton Trophy for the best cadet expedition of 2014, in The Footsteps Of Lawrence, from Wadi Rum to Mudarrawa in Jordan.
We are getting revved up for the Namib treks and rock art expeditions this summer, Operation Hawk is on the back burner due to the security situation in the Western Desert, as are operations in the Sinai.
In June, Sam, as chie leader, was invited to St James' Palace to a reception held for British Exploring by our Patron-in-Chief, HRH Prince Andrew.
